...much work needs to be done if access to justice is to become a reality for ordinary Canadians.
— The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada

Hiring a lawyer is essential to your defence, but it can be expensive. Chris understands the strain legal fees can place on clients and their families. That's why Chris bills on the block fee model.

Once Chris has spoken to you about your case, he will quote you a single fee that will cover all his services. No surprises, no extra fees for phone calls or meetings: everything is included. You can rest easy knowing that Chris is focusing on your defence, not your bills.

Chris understands that some clients may be unable to pay their fee in one lump sum. If needed, he will work with you to develop a payment plan that meets your budget.

Legal Aid

Every person has the right to be represented by competent legal counsel, regardless of their income. If you cannot afford a lawyer, the Government of Ontario may issue you a legal aid certificate, which you can take to a lawyer of your choice.

Chris strongly believes in the right to excellent legal representation. He often waives his fee and accepts legal aid certificates from clients who qualify.
